102 UNIQ was born out of a shared vision by Steven and Jess to bring a truly unique Vietnamese dining experience to Melbourne. With roots in Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant food scene, Steven spent years honing his craft as a chef in some of Vietnam’s most prestigious five-star restaurants before moving to Melbourne. Here, he continued to grow, leading the kitchens of iconic venues like Crown Melbourne, Chin Chin, Long Chim, and Firebird, bringing his expertise to the city’s dynamic culinary landscape. Jess, with a rich background in hospitality management at celebrated hotels like Legend Hotel and Park Hyatt Saigon, as well as international training in Luxembourg, joined Steven in this venture.

Opening 102 UNIQ has always been their dream, and now it’s a place where they bring their passion for Vietnamese cuisine to life. Vietnamese food is all about fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and simplicity that lets each ingredient shine—honest, vibrant food that celebrates the spirit of Vietnam with a touch of Melbourne flair.
